How can we talk about World Literature if we do not actually examine the world as a whole? Research on World Literature commonly focuses on the dynamics of a western center and a southern periphery, ignoring the fact that numerous literary relationships exist beyond these established constellations of thinking and reading within the Global South. Re-Mapping World Literature suggests a different approach that aims to investigate new navigational tools that extend beyond the known poles and meridians of current literary maps. Using the example of Latin American literatures, this study provides innovative insights into the literary modeling of shared historical experiences, epistemological crosscurrents, and book market processes within the Global South which thus far have received scant attention. The contributions to this volume, from renowned scholars in the fields of World and Latin American literatures, assess travelling aesthetics and genres, processes of translation and circulation of literary works, as well as the complex epistemological entanglements and shared worldviews between Latin America, Africa and Asia. From the perspective of Latin American Studies, this volume offers a critical contribution to the current debate on world literature. It is structured around three conceptual blocks: "gatekeepers", as the dispositives and actors mediating the international circulation of literature; "translation", as an unavoidable but always problematic mechanism; and "local literatures", as modes of writing that remain intrinsically tied to their contexts.

¿Qué autoridad posee la ficción frente al documento de verdad y a la narración de lo vivido? Presentado como un género latinoamericano por excelencia, el testimonio logró posicionarse, al menos temporalmente, como un documento portador de verdad y ocupar, así, una posición privilegiada en los recientes debates de los estudios culturales. Durante este momento, la ficción parecía haber sucumbido ante el apotegma positivista que deposita su confianza en la evidencia del hecho empírico. Al aflojar el lazo entre experiencia límite y narración y asignarle un lugar preponderante a esta última, Experiencias límite en la ficción latinoamericana (literatura, cine y teatro) propone un examen de lo que podría ser pensado como el régimen simbólico de lo postestimonial. Explora, así, bajo el supuesto de que los recursos de la ficción son capaces de ampliar el horizonte de la comprensión crítica, fórmulas literarias, fílmicas y teatrales que, independientemente de su pretensión de veracidad, "hacen sonar la experiencia".

Imaginarios boreales en España y América Latina ofrece un abordaje pionero sobre el Norte como imagen acuñada en el Sur hispánico. Analiza la necesidad de imaginar o pensar el Norte, de reflejarse en él o acaso soñarlo. Este libro examina el concepto de Norte independientemente de su definición geográfica; interesa resaltar su carácter simbólico y su relación dialéctica con el Sur. Lo analiza como efecto de estereotipos, deseos y narrativas culturales que dan lugar a una entidad compleja y escurridiza, comprensible únicamente en relación con el Sur, a modo de espejo invertido.Sobre la herencia de una antigua dualidad, actualizada hoy en la noción del Norte y Sur globales, el enfoque borealista permite comprender mejor esa interacción milenaria en la que es posible descubrir cómo cada Norte encierra un Sur. Este volumen contiene doce trabajos de investigación en torno a la literatura y otras producciones culturales específicas que analizan representaciones de la sociedad y cultura de los países nórdicos elaboradas desde América Latina y España.
