Band 5 ist mit Friedrich Wilhelm Murnaus "City Girl" (1930) einem der vielleicht unbekanntesten Filme des Regisseurs gewidmet – und doch gibt es viele Gründe, diesen klaren, schnörkellosen und schönen Film für ein breiteres Publikum wiederzuentdecken.Nach verworrener Entstehungsgeschichte wurde Murnaus dritte und letzte Hollywood-Produktion – kurz nach Einführung des Tonfilms noch als Stummfilm gedreht – schnell auf Halde gelegt. So konnten sich die zeitgenössischen Zuschauer kein Bild von der auffälligen Modernität des Films machen.
