Presenting the proceedings of a symposium held in honour of Professor Ullrich Trendelenburg, this text is concerned with research on the pharmacology and physiology of such neurotransmitters as noradrenaline, dopmanine, 5-hydroxytrypemine and ATP. The articles have been written by specialists in the field of transmitter pharmacology. It is hoped that the new research activities and results they report on will advance understanding about the autonomic nervous system.
