The guide includes activities and lessons to help children build empathy, emotional intelligence, logical thinking, perseverance, growth mindset and mindfulness. It extends the Guide Star conversation questions included in the series stories and activities into lessons and takes a deeper dive into conversations and therapeutic strategies that can be used in the counseling setting, at school or home with young children. The booklet is broken up by themes so parents, teachers and counselors can pull material based on the needs of the child. And, the booklet includes a simple "recipe" for a lesson plan format that we recommend using in the classroom as well as a few example lesson plans.
