An international group of experts recount the history of Dada from its beginning in 1916 through to the 1930s. The volume’s focus is on the movement’s political motives and social activity, which served to unite this heterogeneous group of visual artists, writers and figures from the theatre. Emerging from the experience of the First World War, Dada artists issued strong warnings about the rise of the Nazi dictatorship. The book vividly demonstrates how vital artistic voices can be in resisting inhumane and anti-democratic tendencies. The British painter Francis Bacon (1909–1992) is famed for his idiosyncratic mode of depicting the human figure. Thirty years after his death, his working methods remain underexplored. New research on the Francis Bacon Studio Archive at Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin, sheds light on the genesis of his works, namely the photographic source material he collected in his studios, on which he consistently based his paintings. The book brings together the artist’s pictorial springboards for the first time, delineating and interpreting recurring patterns and methods in his preparatory work and adoption of photographic material. In addition, it correctly locates ‘chance’ as a driving force in Bacon’s working method and qualifies the significance of photography for the painter. Doch in meiner Geschichte, in der Geschichte meiner Tochter machte niemand Scherze…Wenn Eltern für ihr ungeborenes Kind die Diagnose Trisomie 18 bekommen, wird ihre Welt nie wieder dieselbe sein.In "Hedi war hier" erzählt eine Mutter ihre Geschichte und die Geschichte ihrer ungeborenen Tochter. Sie erzählt von ihrer Erfahrung, ein Kind zu verlieren, dass noch nicht mal geboren wurde.Unverblümt, geradeheraus und ausnahmslos ehrlich.Hedi war hier" ist meine autobiografische Geschichte. Ursprünglich war die Geschichte zur Selbstheilung gedacht, mehr wie ein Tagebuch. Ich habe das Schreiben genutzt, um mit meiner Trauer und Wut fertig zu werden. Am Ende merkte ich, dass meine Geschichte auch anderen Müttern, anderen Vätern, ganzen Familien helfen kann, die ähnliche Erfahrungen machen müssen oder mussten.Vielleicht kann unsere Geschichte anderen Betroffenen mit Sternenkindern das Gefühl geben, nicht allein zu sein, mit all der Wut und Trauer, die auf sie einprasseln. Vielleicht können sich Betroffene mit unseren Erfahrungen als Mutter, Frau, als Vater und Partner identifizieren.Mein Buch ist kein Ratgeber und ich bin keine Expertin, wie man mit solchen Situationen umgehen sollte. Es ist kein Buch, das Tipps enthält. Es ist einfach nur die ehrliche Geschichte einer Mutter, die mit der schlimmsten Situation ihres Lebens leben lernen muss.

After the destruction of Earth the only surviving Englishman Dent hitchhikes through the width of time and space, finds out the answer to the ultimate question, dines at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, saves the world, falls in love with a woman whose feet cannot touch the ground, is worshipped by birds and sandwich-lovers, is enlightened by God's final message to His Creation and finally meets his fate on STAVROMULABETA. It is the aim of this thesis to analyse appearances of religious motives, ideas or traditions in the five novels that belong to the HG-trilogy and to interpret their function in the works.
