This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the Second Mext-NSF-JSPS Interntional Symposium on Software Security, ISSS 2003, held in Tokyo, Japan in November 2003.The 18 revised full invited and selected papers presented were carefully reviewed and improved for inclusion in the book. The papers are organized in topical sections on analysis of protocols and cryptography, verification of security properties, safe implementation of programming languages, secure execution environments, and secure systems and security management.
Algebra, Meaning, and Computation

Joseph Goguen is one of the most prominent computer scientists worldwide. His numerous research contributions span many topics and have changed the way we think about many concepts. Our views about data types, programming languages, software specification and verification, computational behavior, logics in computer science, semiotics, interface design, multimedia, and consciousness, to mention just some of the areas, have all been enriched in fundamental ways by his ideas. This Festschrift volume - published to honor Joseph Goguen on his 65th Birthday on June 28, 2006 - includes 32 refereed papers by leading researchers in the different areas spanned by Joseph Goguen's work. The papers address a broad variety of topics from meaning, meta-logic, specification and composition, behavior and formal languages, as well as models, deduction, and computation. The papers were presented at a Symposium in San Diego, California, USA in June 2006. Both the Festschrift volume and the Symposium allow the articulation of a retrospective and prospective view of a range of related research topics by key members of the research community in computer science and other fields connected with Joseph Goguen's work.

Cafeobj Report: The Language, Proof Techniques, And Methodologies For Object-oriented Algebraic Specification
Inbunden, Engelska, 1998

Tillfälligt slut
CafeOBJ is an industrial strength modern algebraic specification language, a successor of the famous OBJ language, and directly incorporating new paradigms such as behavioural concurrent specification and rewriting logic. CafeOBJ is the core of an environment supporting the systems (mainly software but not only) development process at several levels, including prototyping, specification, and formal verification. This book presents not only the formal definition of the language and its semantics, but also methodologies for specification and verification in CafeOBJ, with emphasis on concurrent object composition and modularity. The presentation of the CafeOBJ concepts is supported by many examples, and an appendix illustrates the power of the language and its methodologies by a larger CASE study including specification, testing, and verification. The book may be used both by software engineers interested in algebraic methodologies, and by students and researchers in software engineering and/or theoretical computing science as a fast introduction to state-of-art algebraic specification.
