Brought to you by Penguin. Shortlisted for the Best Ensemble Narration Award at the New York Festival Radio Awards 2020. This audiobook is Madness'' story in their own words - with each band member featuring as a narrator. In their own words they each look back on their shared adventures. Playing music together, riding freight trains, spraying graffiti and stealing records. Walking in one another''s footsteps by day and rising up through the city''s exploding pub music scene by night. Before We Was We is irreverent, funny and full of character. Just like them.

Smoking Geographies provides a research-led assessment of the impact of geographical factors on smoking. The contributors uncover how geography can show us not only why people smoke but also broader issues of tobacco control, providing deeper clarity on how smoking and tobacco is ‘governed’.
The text centres on one of the most important public health issues worldwide, and a major determinant of preventable mortality and morbidity in developed and developing countries Records the outcomes of a long-term research collaboration that brings a geographical lens to smoking behaviour Uncovers how geography can play a part in understanding not only why people smoke but also broader issues of tobacco control Provides a deeper understanding of how smoking and tobacco is ‘governed’, regarding where people may smoke, but also more subtle governance as a climate is produced in which smoking becomes ‘denormalised’ Brings both quantitative and qualitative perspectives to bear on this major source of mortality and morbidity950 kr

The time is the mid-1880s, when Florida south of St. Augustine is a virtual wilderness and Daytona, Miami, and Tampa are little more than dots on the maritime charts. Addie is a “beanery queen” who ekes out a living from her canteen at the convergence of two primitive railroads. She is popular with the train crews but is disdained by most of the townspeople because she lives, unmarried, with a war veteran whose mental disorder is considered to be of demonic origin.
Thanks to her prevention of a disastrous train wreck, Addie meets Burke, the owner-operator of the railroad that links the seaside docks at Mayport with St. Augustine. An attraction blossoms but is tantalizingly unfulfilled when social persecution forces Addie to flee into the subtropical wilderness. Burke launches a search for her, not knowing that she has become a pawn in a plot to usurp him of his empire.
