''Judas Iscariot (novella)'''' - is a work by the representative of the Silver Age of Russian literature, the father of Russian Expressionism L. N. Andreyev (1871-1919). The author has been giving birth to the idea of this work (1907) for long. In his version Judas tends not downwards, but upwards after the Christ. He hates and disregards people at the same time. He does not want to be simply the first after the Christ and to get drunk with the sorrow of his betrayal, but to stand near Him, having put the unworthy world under his feet. Judas character - is simultaneously a cynical, narcissistic intriguer and also a proud, courageous fighter with human stupidity.
