Rosemary är åttiosex år och har bott hela sitt liv i Brixton. Det har varit ett fint liv, men nu börjar saker förändras: biblioteket där hon arbetade har stängt, den lilla mataffären har blivit en trendig bar och framförallt har hon blivit ensam efter att hennes älskade make har gått bort.
Kate är nyinflyttad i Brixton och har fått arbete på lokaltidningen, det är inte riktigt den journalistkarriär hon drömde om. Men när den omtyckta utomhusbassängen hotas av nedläggning får hon en riktig story att lyfta fram.
