Hearing, sight, touch, smell, and taste: Our impressions of the world are formed by our five senses, and so too are our fears, our imaginations, and our captivation in reading fiction stories that embrace these senses.
Whether hearing the song of infernal caverns, tasting the erotic kiss of treachery, or smelling the lush fragrance of a fiend, enclosed within this anthology are fifteen horror and dark fantasy tales that will quicken the beat of fear, sweeten the flavor of wonder, sharpen the spike of thrills, and otherwise brighten the marvel of storytelling that is found resonant!
Editor Eric J. Guignard and psychologist Jessica Bayliss, PhD also include companion discourse throughout, offering academic and literary insight as well as psychological commentary examining the physiology of our senses, why each of our senses are engaged by dark fiction stories, and how it all inspires writers to continually churn out ideas in uncommon and invigorating ways.
Featuring stunning interior illustrations by Nils Bross, and including fiction short stories by such world-renowned authors as John Farris, Ramsey Campbell, Poppy Z. Brite, Darrell Schweitzer, and Richard Christian Matheson, amongst others.
Intended for readers, writers, and students alike, explore THE FIVE SENSES OF HORROR!

Cutting Down provides a practical and accessible treatment programme based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) principles for young people who self-harm.
This fully revised and updated second edition includes new techniques from ‘third’ wave CBT, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). This enriches the material and brings the concepts up to date. Another key addition to this new edition is the inclusion of strategies for young people who engage in suicidal behaviour. The manual is evidence based and focuses on a flexible and formulation driven model to direct treatment in around 15 sessions for young people and six sessions for parents and caregivers. It provides a clear structure for each session and an easy-to-follow outline on how the therapist should deliver each session. The content of each session is supported by handouts and worksheets which can be used within sessions or as homework between sessions.
Enhanced with online resources, the workbook will be useful for all professionals working with young people who self-harm across a wide range of settings from schools, primary care and voluntary sector, to community mental health services and inpatient units.

Global Politics of Welsh Patagonia: Settler colonialism from the margins
This book is freely available on a Creative Commons licence thanks to the kind sponsorship of the libraries participating in the Jisc Open Access Community Framework OpenUP initiative.
Inspired by decolonial thinking, this book challenges romantic images of Y Wladfa, the Welsh Patagonian settlement founded in 1865. Drawing on archival sources written in Spanish, Welsh and English, it exposes the complex human relationships of this settler colony, and in particular disrupts the myth of Welsh–Indigenous friendship by foregrounding Indigenous experience and revealing less familiar accounts in the record. A newly-developed framework applies three logics – possession, racialization/barbarisation, and assimilation – to make sense of settler colonialism in Patagonia and to debate Wales’s complex position as both colonised and coloniser. A new analysis of contemporary cultural products (television, film, textbooks) further demonstrates how the romantic view continues to shape racial stereotypes today, concluding that such settler origin countries as Wales are vital sites of decolonial debate.
