Die Referate des Symposiums befaBten sich mit den Themenkrei- sen Plastizitatstheorie, Tribologie, Werkstofftechnik, Tech- nologie des Urnformens, rechnerunterstUtzte ProzeBsimulation sowie mit CAD/CAM fUr Werkzeuge und Haschinen. Die meisten Beitrage stammen von anerkannten Nissenschaftlern aus der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Danemark, Frankreich, GroBbritan- nien, Japan, Kanada, ~sterreich, Schweden,der Schweiz und den USA. In weiteren Kurzbeitragen wurde Uber abgeschlossene und laufende Arbeiten des Institutes fUr Umformtechnik der Uni- versitat Stuttgart berichtet. AIle Vortrage sind in der Originalsprache, d. h. entweder in Deutsch oder in Englisch abgedruckt. Die Veranstaltung wandte sich an das Fachmanagement und an Ingenieure in Forschung und Entwicklung, Konstruktion und Ar- beitsvorbereitung in Unternehmen, die sich mit der Umform- technik befassen sowie an Mitarbeiter von Hochschulinstituten und Mitglieder technisch-wissenschaftlicher Vereinigungen. The papers read at the symposium covered the topics theory of plasticity, tribology, materials, technology of metal forming, computer aided process simulation as well as CAD/CAM for tools and machine tools.In addition findings of completed or cur- rent investigations carried out at the Institut fUr Umform- technik der Universitat Stuttgart were presented. All papers are printed in their original language only, either English or German.
