En av våra första konserter ägde rum på en av Europas största heavy metal-festivaler Wacken Open Air. Innan spelningen sade vår turnémanager att vi skulle åka till en skivaffär för en signing session. Själv tänkte jag: signing session - vad är det för något? Jag kunde inte tro att någon skulle vilja ha våra autografer när vi precis släppt första skivan och aldrig varit på turné innan. Vi åkte till en liten stad utan några större förhoppningar men väl framme vid skivaffären var det meterlånga köer. Jag hann undra vilka fler som var där när jag såg ett bord med fem stolar. På bordet stod det foton på oss i Hammerfall. Jag såg mig förvånat omkring efter andra band, men det var bara vi som var där. Alla som hade samlats var där för vår skull. Känslan var overklig men samtidigt väldigt spännande. Där och då fick jag skriva autografer för första gången och se in i ögonen på våra förväntansfulla fans. Det tog ett bra tag innan vi var redo att bege oss tillbaka till festivalen. Vi hade våra skinnbyxor och lite annat vi lyckats få ihop från våra garderober, som hade någorlunda rätt rockimage, och när fötterna glidit ner i bootsen, basen hängde över axeln och resten av bandet stod redo, infann sig en cool känsla. Vi klev upp på scenen på vår allra första turné och rockade järnet inför tusentals personer i publiken.

Magnus Rosén – musiker och kulturarbetare. Magnus har genom åren hunnit med två guldskivor med Hammerfall, grammisnomineringar, Euro Awards, Artist of the Year, Save the Earth Prize, Adlerbertska kulturstipendiet och en Rotaryutmärkelse för fint engagemang. Han har även hunnit med kulturarrangemang utöver det vanliga, där han spelat med Göteborgssymfoniker, kungliga filharmonikerna och genomfört en solobasbalett med Göteborgsoperan. Sist men inte minst är han upphovsmannen till det omtalade projektet Culture Meets Industry.

"The Bass of my Heart" is an autobiography about Magnus's life as a rock musician. Magnus has traveled around the world countless times, mostly as the bassist for the band Hammerfall.
His bass playing has enabled him to pursue his great interest in people and cultures, allowing him to experience various cultures from the inside.
He recounts his experience in La Paz, Bolivia, at an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,780 feet) above sea level, where supplemental oxygen was provided.

Magnus is a groundbreaking and innovative rock musician who has performed with Hammerfall and the Gothenburg Opera Symphony Orchestra, just to mention a few collaborations.

One of our first gigs of the tour was at Wacken Open Air festival, one of Europe’s largest heavy metal festivals. Before the gig, our tour manager told us to go to a record store for a signing session. I thought to myself, a signing session—what is that? I could not imagine that anyone would want our autographs as we had just released our first album and had never been on tour before. With no expectations, we drove to this small town, and when we arrived outside the record store, there were long queues. I wondered who else was there when I saw a table, five chairs, and on the table, photos of us, Hammerfall members. I looked around in surprise for other bands, but we were the only ones there. Everyone who had gathered was there for us. It felt unreal but at the same time very exciting. There and then, I got to sign autographs for the first time and look into the eyes of our excited fans. It took a while before we were ready to head back to the festival. We had our leather pants on and some other things we managed to find in our wardrobes to create the right rock image. As my feet slipped into the boots, with my bass hung over my shoulder and the rest of the band ready, things really started to feel cool. We stepped on stage at our first tour gig and rocked out in front of thousands of people in the audience.
