Este volumen presenta los informes finales de los seis grupos de la primera promoción de MAD, la concentración en Educación Matemática de la maestría en Educación, del Centro de Investigación y Formación en Educación (CIFE), Universidad de los Andes. MAD 1 se realizó entre enero de 2010 y diciembre de 2011, en ocho módulos consecutivos, dos módulos por semestre. Cada módulo —compuesto por cuatro actividades— estuvo a cargo de un formador español. Participaron 26 profesores de matemáticas en ejercicio de colegios de Bogotá y el resto de Cundinamarca. Los tutores y formadores del programa fueron profesores de las universidades españolas de Almería, Cantabria y Granada. El programa tuvo una coordinadora local, profesora de la Universidad de los Andes.
