The British government's top secret Code & Cypher School at Bletchley Park, otherwise known as Station X, was the unlikely setting for one of the most vital undercover operations of the Second World War. It was at Bletchley in present-day Milton Keynes that teams of code breakers succeeded in cracking Germany's supposedly unbreakable Enigma codes, thereby shortening the war by at least two years. Marion Hill has used the transcripts of some 200 interviews and memoirs from among the thousands of people who worked at Station X to give a remarkable insight into the daily lives of the civilian and service personnel who contributed to the breaking of the Enigma and other Axis codes. She explores their recruitment and training, their first impressions on arrival at Bletchley Park ('BP'), their working conditions, (including the in-house food and entertainment), and their time off in billets and beyond. These BP workers, from boffins to debs to ex-bank clerks and engineers, were united in the need to 'keep mum' - even with their family and close friends. However, the stressful burden on secrecy created divisions within the organisation, and illnesses; and many felt disappointed at the lack of acknowledgement for a vital job about which they were forbidden to speak until many years later.A selection of archive photographs and illustrations accompanies the text, drawn from the Bletchley Park Trust Archive and from the personal albums of those stationed at Bletchley.

Intersected by an ancient brook, Roman tracks, the eighteenth-century Grand Union Canal, the nineteenth-century London-Birmingham railway and a twentieth-century grid-road system, Bradwell has seen its fair share of change over the years, but its past and present remain inextricably intertwined. In this vivid full-colour book, Marion Hill’s collection of archive and modern photographs alongside her many fascinating stories chart the history of the town, from Roman settlers, to a disused railway line now threading a modern route as a cycle path. Bradwell Then & Now will surely prove irresistible for anyone who values the unique heritage of this historic place.

Your mission: To unite a nation divided by a forest of lies. When privilege becomes an unbearable burden. When you must discard your privilege to bring peace. What is a life of privilege worth if there's no peace? One journey to save the world. One journey to unite the world. When hope rests on the shoulders of only one. When hope rests on the shoulders of only one man.Diondray's Journey is the second book of The Diondray's Chronicles."e;In Diondray's Journey, we continue Diondray's journey through three cities. Each city has its own customs and traditions, we get the unique perspective of both Diondray - who is an outsider- and of the people who have grown up with them. It was very interesting. We meet a lot of characters and I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up with them. I was about halfway finished with the book when I realized I wasn't having any problems keeping up with them at all. Just like in the first book, Diondray's Discovery, the world building is just beautiful. I also love to read a book and be thinking about it after I've finished. Unity and division were big themes in this one, and I liked how they were dealt with. The division problems one city in particular stood out to me, and I was so glad Diondray was able to help bring the people together again."e; Kurlann-Goodreads reviewer

A hero's journey starts with a single step—but what if that step rested on a broken foundation? When all you know about your world crumbles into ashes. When truth rests on a broken foundation. When what you believe to be true lies on a broken foundation.A book, a broken faith, a promise of hope.Never open a book without knowing what lies between its covers. When what you knew to be truth crumbles in the face of reality. When your heritage leads you to doubt all you've known.Diondray's Discovery is the first book of The Diondray's Chronicles that will transport you to the world of Kammbia, an imaginative and colorful world in which Diondray discovers his inner hero.If you can't get enough of rich new worlds, breathtaking adventure, introspective characters, and subtle social commentary, then you're ready to ride along with Diondray as he discovers his destiny."e;to describe novelist Marion Hill's first novel in a superlative, the word ambitious strikes the first and last chord. Not satisfied with simply telling a story, he creates his own world and language, and this boldness and audacity often hit the mark. His idealistic surrogate, Diondray Azur, is on a quest; not of his own choosing but his skepticism and curiosity lead him on a path to his destiny - to ultimately unite a people. Hill is at once an artist, employing a broad lexicon to include words such as themily, and a land where his characters commit acts of passha for which one might ask forgiveness, but it is not forgiveness one necessarily craves or is granted. He paints lush landscapes and had one not been familiar with Wakanda, at the very least, Hill is prescient. Moreover, Tolkien's Lord of the Rings comes to mind in this other world Hill has created, his own Middle Earth with less pretense."e;--Carey, Goodreads reviewer
