Äntligen kommer en bok på svenska om Fair Isle-stickning!

Mati Ventrillons stickmönster utgår från den teknik som har använts i århundraden på ön Fair Isle. Boken innehåller 15 stickbeskrivningar samt tips om tekniker, garner och efterbehandling. Här finns större plagg som väst, poncho och flera tröjor för både dam och herr. Bland de mindre stickprojekten hittar man bland annat handledsvärmare, mössor, fingerlösa vantar och halsdukar. Tvåfärgsstickning med Shetlandsgarn i ull ger täta och varma plagg som tål både väder och vind.

Fair Isle-tekniken har en lång historia på den skotska ön. Här har det traditionella hantverket gått i arv i generationer. De typiska mönstren och den speciella tekniken gör plaggen både vackra och lustfyllda att sticka. Förutom mönster och stickbeskrivningar är boken full av inspirerande och vackra fotografier från Fair Isle.    

MATI VENTRILLON lämnade sitt arbete som arkitekt i London 2007 och flyttade till Fair Isle. Där upptäckte hon den traditionella mönsterstickningen, lärde sig sticka och driver idag sin egen verksamhet Fair Isle Knitwear.
