With the interest in practice theory and praxeology on the rise, praxeology can be considered an emerging new methodological as well as theoretical paradigm which successfully overcomes epistemological dichotomies of conventional approaches.The articles in this volume serve as starting points for rendering contemporary practice theory approaches useful for the analysis of political events and processes, without reducing the political aspect a priori to the formal policy sphere. In this context, Praxeological Political Analysis demonstrates that praxeological research is now increasingly addressing issues which are considered virulent in, for instance, the consumer, sustainability or political spheres. Following on from this key focus on political analysis, this title also seeks to expand the current status of primarily political science adaptions of practice theory approaches to the analysis of predominantly narrowly defined political practices. Written with an explicit focus on diverse political aspects and dimensions in the performative enactment of social practices, this title will appeal to post-graduate students and scholars interested in sociology of politics, social and public policy, development in social theory and political research methods.

This study is among the first works in English to comprehensively address the Scandinavian First World War experience in the larger international context of the war. It surveys the complex relationship between the belligerent great powers and Northern Europe’s neutral small states in times of crisis and war.The book's overreaching rationale draws upon three underlying conceptual fields: neutrality and international law, hegemony and great power politics as well as diplomacy and policy-making of small states in the international arena. From a variety of angles, it examines the question of how neutrality was understood and perceived, negotiated and dealt with both among the Scandinavian states and the belligerent major powers, especially Britain, Germany and Russia.For a long time, the experience of neutral countries during the First World War was seen as marginal, and was overshadowed by the experiences of occupation and collaboration brought about by the Second World War. In this book, Jonas demonstrates how this perception has changed, with neutrality becoming an integral part of the multiple narratives of the First World War. It is an important contribution to the international history of the First World War, cultural-historically influenced approaches to diplomatic history and the growing area of neutrality studies.

​Wie lässt sich die Entstehung eines Wirtschaftsclusters in einer Stadt verstehen? In der Auseinandersetzung mit ökonomischen, soziologischen, raumwissenschaftlichen und politikwissenschaftlichen Ansätzen wird ein praxeologischer Forschungsansatz entfaltet, mit dessen Hilfe die Initiierung und Implementation eines Mikrosystemtechnologieclusters im Raum Dortmund analysiert wird. Auf der Grundlage mehrjähriger empirischer Forschung wird die multiple Inszenierung dieses Clusters als Ergebnis der Wirkung ganz unterschiedlicher sozialer Praktiken und dazugehöriger Arrangements gedeutet, in denen verschiedene Akteure und Akteursgruppen involviert sind.​
