Vor 45 Jahren entstand der erste Band von "Geschichte in Köln" (GiK). Für die anfangs halbjährlich erscheinende Zeitschrift liegt nun der 70. Band vor. Er bietet wieder ein breites Spektrum von Beiträgen und Buchbesprechungen zur Kölner Stadt- und rheinischen Landesgeschichte vom Frühmittelalter bis in die Zeit der "Bonner Republik". Ein Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der Koelhoffschen Chronik, der ersten gedruckten und bekanntesten historischen Darstellung der Kölner Geschichte. Neu diskutiert wird u. a. die Frage, wer sie eigentlich geschrieben hat, wie sie im Umfeld der Kartäuser zu verorten ist und wie man sie heutzutage im digital organisierten akademischen Unterricht benutzen kann. Ganz neu ist die Rubrik "Aus dem Kölnischen Stadtmuseum", unter der nun regelmäßig auf Objekte und Quellen zur Geschichte Kölns aufmerksam gemacht wird.
