The juxtaposition of his missing status and her debilitating panic attacks with agoraphobic features (fear of leaving home), propelled Michale into a battle with her personal demons, which had plagued her since the age of 25. How would she make the 18-hour drive from Northern Oregon to Southern California, where Jeff was last seen, when she couldn't drive further than a ten-mile radius from her home?
