Der Übergang von der Schule ins Arbeitsleben verläuft in Deutschland bemerkenswert reibungslos. Ein vortrefflich ausgebautes Berufsbildungssystem gestattet es jungen Menschen, gut vorbereitet in den Arbeitsmarkt zu gehen und Arbeitsplätze zu finden, die ihren Qualifikationen entsprechen. Die berufliche Bildung des sogenannten Sekundarbereichs II, die in Deutschland vor allem durch das duale System geprägt ist, schafft ein solides Fundament für spätere Weiterqualifizierung, insbesondere durch die postsekundäre berufliche Bildung.
