The current volume, Forest Seed Science and Management, covers a range of topics related to seeds and is composed of 14 chapters that address historical perspectives, recent research trends, insect, pest, and disease management, physiological, biotechnological, and molecular aspects, seed collection to processing and storage, testing, industrial approaches, seed policy and legislation, intellectual property rights, and rural extension.

Raising of Quality planting material is important primary input for productive forestry and for any afforestation program. Mitigation of climate change and carbon credit schemes have increased the scope of this subject. Large quantities of seed are needed every year to raise the nursery stock for propagating the desired plant species.
