Every critical theory in the last twenty years has, it seems, cut its teeth on Wuthering Heights, and the New Casebook on Wuthering Heights includes essays of major importance from positions including liberal humanism, psychoanalysis, deconstruction, Marxism and feminism. A third has Blanche Ingram reduced to a fallen woman, seduced and abandoned by John Reed.
