Comment reconstruire la réflexion économique après la crise de 2007 et la débâcle d’une « science » aux ordres de la finance ? En quoi la lecture de Keynes peut-elle nous y aider ? S’appuyant largement sur ses écrits, Paul Jorion nous rappelle le destin hors du commun de John Maynard Keynes : pur produit de Cambridge et de sa culture scolastique, proche de Virginia Woolf et du cercle littéraire de Bloomsbury, il a certes produit une œuvre immense, mais il fut aussi pleinement homme d’action et homme d’État. De cette lecture réfléchie de son œuvre que pouvons-nous tirer ? D’abord, un scepticisme salutaire concernant l’usage des mathématiques et des statistiques en économie. Il occupe la chaire Stewardship of Finance à la Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Dabei entpuppt er sich als Anthropologe und Sozialphilosoph, Psychoanalytiker, Mathematiker, KI-Forscher, als Finanzfachmann ebenso wie als begeisterter Blogger, der den "einzigen optimistischen Blog der westlichen Welt" schreibt.
