This volume of Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing highlights papers presented at the Fifth Euro-China Conference on Intelligent Data Analysis and Applications (ECC2018), held in Xi’an, China from October 12 to 14 2018. The conference was co-sponsored by Springer, Xi’an University of Posts and Telecommunications, VSB Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Fujian University of Technology, Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Equipment, Fujian Provincial Key Lab of Big Data Mining and Applications, and Shandong University of Science and Technology in China. The conference was intended as an international forum for researchers and professionals engaged in all areas of computational intelligence, intelligent control, intelligent data analysis, pattern recognition, intelligent information processing, and applications.

This volume of Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing contains accepted papers presented at WSC17, the 17th Online World Conference on Soft Computing in Industrial Applications, held from December 2012 to January 2013 on the Internet. WSC17 continues a successful series of scientific events started over a decade ago by the World Federation of Soft Computing. It brought together researchers from over the world interested in the ever advancing state of the art in the field. Continuous technological improvements make this online forum a viable gathering format for a world class conference. The aim of WSC17 was to disseminate excellent research results and contribute to building a global network of scientists interested in both theoretical foundations and practical applications of soft computing. The 2012 edition of the Online World Conference on Soft Computing in Industrial Applications consisted of general track and special session on Continuous Features Discretization for Anomaly Intrusion Detectors Generation and special session on Emerging Theories and Applications in Transportation Science. A total of 33 high quality research papers were accepted after a rigorous review process and are provided in this book.

The aim of IBICA 2013 was to provide a platform for world research leaders and practitioners, to discuss the full spectrum of current theoretical developments, emerging technologies, and innovative applications of Bio-inspired Computing. Bio-inspired Computing is currently one of the most exciting research areas, and it is continuously demonstrating exceptional strength in solving complex real life problems. Genetic and Evolutionary ComputingThis volume of Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing contains accepted papers presented at ICGEC 2013, the 7th International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing. The conference this year was technically co-sponsored by The Waseda University in Japan, Kaohsiung University of Applied Science in Taiwan, and VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. ICGEC 2013 was held in Prague, Czech Republic. Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world whose magical atmosphere has been shaped over ten centuries. Places of the greatest tourist interest are on the Royal Route running from the Powder Tower through Celetna Street to Old Town Square, then across Charles Bridge through the Lesser Town up to the Hradcany Castle. The conference was intended as an international forum for the researchers and professionals in all areas of genetic and evolutionary computing. The main topics of ICGEC 2013 included Intelligent Computing, Evolutionary Computing, Genetic Computing, and Grid Computing.

This volume contains accepted papers presented at AECIA2014, the First International Afro-European Conference for Industrial Advancement. The aim of AECIA was to bring together the foremost experts as well as excellent young researchers from Africa, Europe, and the rest of the world to disseminate latest results from various fields of engineering, information, and communication technologies.
