Pierre Lemaitre föddes i Paris 1951. Han slog igenom med thrillertrilogin om kommissarie Verhoeven: Alex, Camille' och Irène. Lemaitre har mottagit både International Dagger Award flera gånger och Goncourtpriset 2013 för en av sina romaner.
