The current information society is transitioning to an intelligent society where real-world and real-data applications have a profound influence. Real-time computing has an enormous impact on the future information society. Unimaginable applications have been emerging in real-time applications in the last two years. Logical reasoning and inference-making activities by machines have become a reality. Complex and heterogeneous data are being processed and infused into machine intelligence, bringing machine intelligence equal to human intelligence. Real-time data and real-time intelligence are the crux of the current research. This book of 41 papers in real-time intelligent systems addresses various issues ranging from real-time algorithms to various applications in real-time intelligence. The contributions of this book will mark a significant impact in the near-future research in real-time intelligence.

In the rapidly advancing field of Intelligent Computing, tracking, monitoring, synthesizing, and inferencing real-time data is becoming a crucial field of interest. This will impact several research themes, including all sub-domains of AI.  The significance of real-time data processing lies in their ability to produce remarkably realistic implications, thereby mitigating challenges associated with intelligence capturing. The second volume of the book series highlights works presented at the 2nd International Conference on Real Time Intelligent Systems, held in Casablanca on October 18-20, 2017​. The book offers a comprehensive, practical review of the state-of-the-art in designing and implementing real-time intelligent computing for the areas within the conference’s scope such as robotics, intelligent alert systems, IoT, remote access control, multi-agent systems, networking, mobile smart systems, crowdsourcing, broadband systems, cloud computing, streaming data and many other applications.

Research in real-time computing supports decision making in dynamic environments.
