Unusual and deeply moving, His Share of Sky is collection of short stories set in a Bodo village on the banks of the river Jwima, in Assam's Kokrajhar district. The stories, woven around the carefree life of a little tribal Bodo boy, narrate the different situations - sometimes hilarious and at other times poignant - in which he lands himself, along with his two brothers and many friends. Every child will relate to witty and smart Barsau. Although he lives in a rural setting in the north-east of India, his charm and sense of mischief remain universal and timeless.

This deeply human and beautifully narrated collection of stories is coloured by the many shades of emotion and experience which go to create the mosaic of life. Sometimes blithe and sometimes sorrowful, the stories have as their fabric the spectrum of human intentions which lead to tragedy or joy, humour or mischief, anger or love, blessings or curses; each having its own impact on the fates and destinies of ordinary people.
