Seminar paper from the year 2012 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: A, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, language: English, abstract: Americans are crying foul on the way their economic future has been put at risk. American corporations have literary opened a Pandora's Box, in their quest to reduce the expenses on getting some specific tasks accomplished. This is at the expense of the Americans who, day by day are losing lucrative jobs to foreigners who are experts in the various fields. In the early 2000, the media was flooded with reports on how the US was slowly doing itself an injustice by unleashing some of the best jobs offshore to China, India and China, where the cost of getting the job done was much cheaper. The government's acknowledgement through Dr. Gregory Mankiw, who used to be President Bush's Chief Economic Advisor in 2003, raged the storm even further. His assertions that exporting of very high value jobs was productive for the country were unsettling. This essay seeks to explore how Americans are highly disadvantaged by the outsourcing evil that has struck the US like a plague. Moreover, the various options available for the country to redeem itself are further discussed and examined deeply. As peter DeFazio puts it "e;We are entirely outsourcing United States' industrial base to China. Economic implications along with national security issues are a concern"e;. Outsourcing has become a reality that has posed a dilemma in the USA. Experts indicate that the phenomenon is unstoppable and can never be ignored. More than 14 million white collar jobs are vulnerable of being outsourced. It should be noted that these are high paying jobs with as average salary of $31, 720. By the end of 2005, more than 800,000 jobs had been moved overseas from the US. Various fields have been adversely affected. Notably, any work that can be sent over the wire is likely to be outsourced. Some of the fields include information technology, newspaper reporting, call-center operators, legal services, engineering tasks and accounting. Moreover reports have indicated that more than 2 million jobs in the banking and securities sector are likely to move overseas in thus. There are also more than 700,000 customer

Seminar paper from the year 2011 in the subject Business economics - Offline Marketing and Online Marketing, grade: A, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, language: English, abstract: 1. IntroductionThe media plays a very critical role in any country and the world at large. In any democracy, the media is such a critical tool towards the realization of the various countries development objectives. The media effectively overcomes the temptation by the government to dominate information and practice its monopoly. Moreover, there is the gradual fostering of the development of an effective and mature information culture throughout the globe. Transparency and corruption free work environments in the public and private sectors can only be realized through the watchful and critical eyes of the media at a global scale. Among others, the media performs the informing, entertaining and education roles in the society. Much as the entertaining aspect seems to be taking center-stage, the other two are equally important and critical. The society, more often than not depends on the media to be informed on the government development progress and further still keeping it accountable to the electorate. It is therefore important for the global media to be keenly regulated and all the barriers towards its development dealt with at the earliest available opportunities. Moreover, the media ownership should be fairly distributed as opposed to the government exercising monopoly in the media ownership (Doyle 2002:3). 2. Discussion of the media trendsThe first media trend is regulation and deregulation of the media. Being the watchful eyes of the society, journalists and other media personalities should be given the freedom to carry out their own fair investigations and report the various matters of public concern, furnished with enough evidence. The public on the other hand, should develop trust in the media so as to submit the most accurate information when so needed. Regulatory bodies for

Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2011 in the subject Economics - Finance, grade: A, University of Newcastle, language: English, abstract: During the past two decades, China's economy has been growing rapidly, so has the inflation rate. This research focuses on the relationship between China's inflation rate and economic growth. There are three sub-questions, consisting of whether there is a significant correlation between China's inflation and economic growth, whether there is a cause-and-effect relationship between China's inflation and economic growth, and how time factor influences their relationship. The result will be helpful for the government to find a way in order to achieve high economic growth and low inflation. After reviewing empirical literature, we know that as the dada and methods differ, different researchers have generated different conclusions regarding the relationship between inflation and economic growth. In this research, we use CPI to measure inflation rate and GDP growth rate to measure economic growth rate. All the data are collected from the National Bureau of Statistics of China. We use three methods to analyse data, including the Correlation Coefficient test, the Granger Causality test as well as the VAR model analysis. The result turns out to be that there is a bidirectional causality relationship between inflation and economy growth, but the relationship is not so strong because CPI is not solely driven by GDP. At last, we have come up with three recommendations: firstly, change their model of economic development; secondly, use the monetary policies; thirdly, monitor and predict people s expectation of inflation.

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has been keen on the raising public concern and awareness of environmental problems and also suggesting ways of protecting it. Many countries have also been campaigning for environmental protection. Media reporting on environmental issues has also increased greatly. Being green in marketing is a concept which advocates for marketing strategies that will help in the prevention of environmental pollution through the production, promotion, distribution and consumption of products that do not cause harm to the environment. Consumer, marketers and producers are advised to look for strategies that will help prevent environmental pollution in their daily activities. Green marketing emerged as a result of rising concern over environmental degradation, which increased worldwide interest in alternative production and marketing systems that help in the reduction of environmental pollution.
