RICHARD MATHESON [1926-2013] var en amerikansk författare. Han skrev en rad romaner och noveller inom skräck, fantasy och science fiction, och även manus för tv och film, bland annat det ikoniska avsnittet »Nightmare at 20.000 Feet« för tv-serien The Twilight Zone. Allra mest känd är Matheson för den postapokalyptiska skräckromanen Legend [I Am Legend, 1954].
