 The 1960's. A time of social upheaval and change. The EBB and its new leader, Paul, find themselves thrust into the middle of anti-war and ant-military sentiments.

Risking their lives in unnoticed and remote areas of the world, EBB performs dangerous peacekeeping missions for the UN - missions that see the young troopers experience the very worst and best of humanity, sometimes on the same day.

His service complete, Paul just wants to obtain his degree and become a civilian.

The world has other plans.

After a night of celebratory partying, Duncan Kovacs and his team of security specialists, the Wind Riders, find themselves somehow transported to the other end of the Galaxy. Hired without their knowledge or consent to fight as mercenaries for a planet under attack by superior forces using unknown weapons and possibly advanced weapons systems.

But the unscrupulous Mercenary Guild did not do their research and what they got was more than what they bargained for.

Bowing to external pressure, the government orders two battalions of the Regiment to Saudi Arabia.

Newly married and now promoted Elizabeth Bekebaum and three hundred troops are sent ahead to prepare the Regiments base.

Caught between the U.S. Marines, the Saudi armed forses and Saddam's Iraqi army, Elizabeth must walk a fine line to ensure cooperation with her allies, while keeping an eye on the Iraqis.

Back home, her teenage brother Richard, reluctantly enters service as a candidate. Only time will tell if he just goes through the motions, or becomes fully involved. The Regiment needs new leaders.

Within days of the attacks on 9-11, Rick Bekenbaum and Commando One are operating deep behind enemy lines in Afghanistan. Facing a determined foe, alongside Afghan tribesmen of unknown reliability and ever present threats of Pentagon interference, Commando One must walk a fine line to accomplish their mission. Or parish in the attempt.

Back at home, Paul and Elizabeth face a new challenge. Helping two impoverished First Nations Peoples, attempting to keep both the First Nations People and the Federal Government happy. A task almost as dangerous as the task in Afghanistan.
