In ihrem Buch "Das Leben birgt ein tödliches Risiko" sind die Kurzkrimis der sechs "Bloody Marys" vereint, die alle in Dortmund spielen. Die abwechslungsreichen Geschichten sind so vielschichtig wie die Autorinnen selbst. Auch das Lokalkolorit kommt hier nicht zu kurz, zu jeder Geschichte gibt es eine Fotografie, die einen Eindruck vom Ort des Geschehens vermittelt. Viele Orte und Plätze in Dortmund sind hier zu sehen.
