This book examines applications of multi-omics approaches for understanding disease etiology, pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions. It also analyzes the genetics, immunological and metabolic mechanisms underlying the infections. The book also explores genomics, transcriptomics, translational-omics, and metabolomics approaches to understand the pathogenesis and identify potential drug targets. It reviews the role of epigenetic reprogramming in shaping the host-pathogen interactions and presents bioinformatics application in the identification of drug targets. Further, it examines the potential applications of RNA sequencing and non-coding RNA profiling to identify the pathogenesis. Lastly, it offers the current challenges, technological advances, and prospects of using multi-omics technologies in infectious biology.

The book comprehensively discusses the mechanisms of pathogenesis and drug resistance; current diagnostics landscape of four key human pathogens; bacterial, fungal, protozoans and viral which are the causes of major infectious diseases. It also assesses the emerging technologies for the detection and quantification of these pathogens. Further, it discusses the novel opportunities to fight against these infectious diseases and to identify pertinent drug targets with novel methodologies. It also reviews the current and future insights into the control, elimination, and eradication of these infectious diseases.

In summary, the book provides the mechanistic insight of the pathogenicity, drug-resistance,therapeutic strategies and identification of the novel drug targets of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Plasmodium, Candida, Hepatitis C and emerging viral infections.

The book explores Candida and candidiasis, and Aspergillus and aspergillosis, two significant fungal infectious diseases.

In the first section, various aspects of Candida infection are covered. The book delves into the epidemiology of Candida infections, highlighting their prevalence and distribution. It thoroughly discusses diagnostics and pathogenesis of candidiasis, providing valuable insights into the identification, and understanding of the disease. Additionally, the book addresses the growing concern of drug resistance and provides an overview of current therapeutics for candidiasis.

Chapters in the second section examine the epidemiology of Aspergillus infections, providing a comprehensive understanding of their occurrence and impact. It discusses the diagnostics and pathogenesis of aspergillosis, shedding light on the methods for accurate diagnosis and the mechanisms by which the infection develops. It explores the host-pathogen interaction and the role of biofilms in these infections. Furthermore, the book addresses the pressing issue of drug resistance in aspergillosis and presents an overview of therapeutic approaches available for managing the disease.

This book serves as a valuable resource for researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals seeking in-depth knowledge of these fungal infectious diseases.
