El último libro escrito por el pastor Samuel Escobar narra sobre la presencia de los bautistas en el Perú desde la década de 1930 y su impacto en el crecimiento del pueblo evangélico en el Perú. El autor nos ofrece, en primer lugar, un relato de su propio peregrinaje como bautista, esforzándose por recuperar la memoria histórica de su denominación. En segundo lugar, presenta un bosquejo de la práctica misionera y de la teología de los Bautistas. Más que una segunda edición, este libro es un segundo volumen, que, de alguna manera, continúa ahí donde quedó la primera edición, y cubre el desarrollo de la obra estudiantil en las décadas de transición entre los siglos XX y XXI, relatando la historia de un período particularmente desafiante para los movimientos estudiantiles evangélicos en América Latina.La celebración del Segundo Congreso de Cochabamba (1998) fue un momento trascendental de la historia que este libro atestigua.
