Depuis la parution de cet ouvrage il y a près de vingt ans, les recherches sur le yakuwarigo (le « langage de rôle ») connaissent un engouement croissant.Le présent livre définit ce concept comme « le langage qui évoque ou qui est propre à un type de personnage dans les œuvres de fiction », et notamment dans le manga et les anime.
