Vielmehr verweist sie je nach Inszenierung auf verschiedenste Diskurse, kann cool oder grotesk wirken, zum Logo werden oder Anonymität herstellen. Der Essay zeigt an zwei Beispielfällen (Sido, Slipknot), wie die Maske die Persona von Pop-Stars konstruiert – und enthüllt damit Strukturen der Pop-Musik.
