Peripheries, No. 6, spans the senses with music, choreography, painting, sculpture, archival material, short stories, and poetry by Victoria Chang, Angie Estes, Aracelis Girmay, Joanna Klink, Alice Oswald, Rowan Ricardo Philips, Tracy K. Smith, and many more. The journal also includes a special folio, “Anti-Letters,” which comprises the “personal” writings—ephemera, letters, lists, notes, recordings, etc.—of poets such as Cody-Rose Clevidence, Jill Magi, and Jane Miller, among others. The issue also features a review by Tawanda Mulalu, creative nonfiction from Jackie Wang, a mixed media collaboration between Sharon Olds and Sam Messer, a David Grubbs composition with an accompaniment by Susan Howe, and an excerpt from a book-length poem by Geoffrey Nutter.

A bilingual anthology of poems from Palestine (2023-2024), You Must Live attests to existence in the face of suppression. Bearing witness to the realities of the Palestinian genocide, You Must Live is a bilingual anthology of recent poetry from Gaza and the West Bank. Translated from Arabic and edited by Tayseer Abu Odeh and Sherah Bloor, this collection gathers the voices of poets currently living in Palestinian territory, most of whom have never left. Yet the poems in You Must Live refuse to cast their speakers as perpetual victims. Diverse voices and styles shine throughoutpowerful, prayerful, theatrical, and even humorousas poets write love letters to the landscape, elegies for martyrs and homes, and proclamations for the future. Negotiating the interplay between aesthetics and politics, the individual and the collective, You Must Live sounds as an urgent call to the global community.

This volume engages in conversation with the thinking and work of Max Charlesworth as well as the many questions, tasks and challenges in academic and public life that he posed. It addresses philosophical, religious and cultural issues, ranging from bioethics to Australian Songlines, and from consultation in a liberal society to intentionality. The volume honours Max Charlesworth, a renowned and celebrated Australian public intellectual, who founded the journal Sophia, and trained a number of the present heirs to both Sophia and academic disciplines as they were further developed and enhanced in Australia: Indigenous Australian studies, philosophy of religion, the study of the tension between tradition and modernity, phenomenology and existentialism, hermeneutics, feminist philosophy, and philosophy of science that is responsive to environmental issues.
