Der Titel befasst sich mit dem Wandel der politischen Kommunikation von Verbänden in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland unter den Herausforderungen der Politikbeobachtung durch allgegenwärtige Massenmedien. Nach einer Einführung in die Funktionen und Bedeutung von Verbänden und Medien in der Politikvermittlung zwischen Staat und Gesellschaft werden die neuen Verflechtungen von öffentlichen, medialen und nichtöffentlichen, institutionellen Politikarenen in der Mediengesellschaft sowie deren Rückwirkungen auf die verbandliche Interessenpolitik, Organisation und Binnen- wie Außenkommunikation behandelt.
