The church is a key to understand history - a meeting place for people in its landscape for over a thousand years. A crossroads of theology and faith, of life and death. A bearer of longing, faith and hope. A church is special for its deep time-perspective. It speaks of the history of its settlement, of people's realtionships to one another, of faith and power and brute economics; and it reflects what is fine and beautiful in the art and architecture of different ages. Church, space and landscape make up the history of our cultural inheritance over a thousand years, mirrored in the five churches of Vreta kloster parish. Every one of these churches has the same mission, but tells its story in a differens way. Come on a journey through history, in word and image - from past to present, and present to future.
