Every three years a major international conference on bats draws the leading workers in the field to a carefully orchestrated presentation of the research and advances and current state of understanding of bat biology. Bats are the second most populous group of mammalia species, after rodents, and they are probably the most intensively studied group of mammals. Virtually all mammologists and a large proportion of organismic biologists are interested in bats. The earlier two edited books deriving from previous bat research conferences, as well as this one, have been rigorously edited by Tom Kunz and others, with all chapters subjected to peer review. The resulting volumes, published first by Academic Press and most recently by Smithsonian, have sold widely as the definitive synthetic treatments of current scientific understanding of bats.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Ad Hoc Networks, ADHOCNETS 2016, held in Ottawa, Canada, September 26-17, 2016.The 34 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 46 submissions. The papers provide visions, trends, challenges and opportunities in the area of ad hoc networking and emerging applications. The conference also features two workshops on ad hoc network security and vulnerability, and convergence of wireless directional network systems and software defined networking, respectively.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Ad Hoc Networks, AdHocNets 2017, held in Niagara Falls, Ontario, USA, in September 2017. The 19 full papers were selected from 30 submissions and cover a variety of network paradigms including mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), sensor networks, vehicular networks, underwater networks, airborne networks, underground networks, personal area networks, device-to-device (D2D) communications in 5G cellular networks, and home networks. The papers present a wide range of applications in civilian, commercial, and military areas.

The 5th International Conference on Adhoc, Mobile and Wireless Networks (Adhoc-Now 2006) was held during August 17–19, 2006, in Ottawa, Canada. The ?rst four conferences in this series were held in Toronto (2002), Montreal (2003), Vancouver (2004) and Cancun (2005), respectively. The purpose of this conference is to provide a forum for researchers from academia/industry and practitioners to meet and exchange ideas regarding recent developments in the areas of ad hoc wireless networks. We received more than 170 papers for the conference submitted by authors from the following 25 countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Norway,Poland, Spain, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Turkey, UK, USA and Venezuela. Each paper was assignedto three members of the Technical Program Committee (TPC). Since each TPC member was responsible for generating - views for six to nine papers, we encouraged TPC members to delegate some reviews to other quali?ed reviewers. The names of all the TPC members and the additional reviewers appear elsewhere in this volume. Based on the reviews, we decided to accept 25 submissions as regular papers and 10 as short papers. Regular papers were given 25 minutes for presentation while short papers were given 15 minutes. All of the accepted papers appear in this volume. We are indebted to the TPC and the other reviewers for their detailed and timely reviews which enabled us to put together an excellent technical program.

Der Band analysiert auf theoretischer Ebene rassistische und rechtspopulistische Diskurse im Kontext von Medien, Migration und Mobilität, um deren Umsetzung in politische Strategien und Praxen mittels empirischer Untersuchungen zu re- und dekonstruieren und schließlich zu diskutieren, ob und – wenn ja – wie in einer kritischen Bildungsarbeit diesen Diskursen und Praxen begegnet werden kann und muss. Dabei werden nicht nur Methoden der Bildungsarbeit, sondern auch deren Anwendungen in Arbeitsfeldern wie Schule, Hochschule und der Sozialen Arbeit thematisiert.
