Why There is No Climate Crisis uses science-based facts to reveal why, despite recent warming, there is no climate crisis. The cost of climate hysteria is high — climate anxiety is increasing, couples are putting off having children out of fear, and billions of dollars are being spent to eliminate carbon dioxide emissions. Those advocating a climate crisis often justify these costs by stating, "Scientists say there is a climate crisis." But what do scientists actually say? The surprising scientific and historical evidence you should know is revealed in this book.Using data from highly respected sources, Thomas Kurz shows how severe weather and other predicted climate catastrophes are not increasing — or are in decline — and provides the scientific reasons behind these trends. The climate has always been cyclical, and this book examines past climate cycles in detail. Historical records are presented that convincingly show how cold climates are detrimental to societies, while warm cycles lead to prosperity, with Modern Warming being no exception. As Kurz demonstrates, we are currently at the top of a warm climate cycle, and he shares the reasons why we will likely enter a cold climate cycle after 2030. Satellite measurements show that climate models — upon which climate fears are based — overestimate warming by nearly two-and-a-half times. Using data from peer-reviewed scientific literature, Kurz shows how this amplification is greatly exaggerated and totally offset by cooling from the shade provided by increased low cloud cover.Because this two-and-a-half-fold magnification of warming does not exist, there is no climate crisis — and there will not be one.

Since the advent of the laser, coherent optics has developed at an ever increasing pace. There is no doubt about the reason. Coherent light, with its properties so different from the light we are surrounded by, lends itself to numerous applications in science, technology, and life. The bandwidth of coherent optics reaches from holography and interferometry, with its gravitational wave detectors, to the CD player for music, movies, and computers; from the laser scalpel, which allows surgical cutting in the interior of the eye without destruction of the layers penetrated in front of it, to optical information and data processing with its great impact on society. According to its importance, the foundations of coherent optics should be conveyed to students of natural sciences as early as possible to better prepare them for their future careers as physicists or engineers. The present book tries to serve this need: to promote the foundations of coherent optics. Special attention is paid to a thorough presentation of the fundamentals. This should enable the reader to follow the contemporary literature from a firm basis. The wealth of material, of course, makes necessary a restriction of the topics included. Therefore, from the main areas of optics, wave optics and the classical description oflight is given most ofthe space available. The book starts with a quick trip through the history of physics from the viewpoint of optics.

Master's Thesis from the year 2010 in the subject Communications - Theories, Models, Terms and Definitions, grade: 1,0 with distinction, University of Salzburg (Cultural and Social Faculty), course: Interpersonal Communication, language: English, abstract: This work describes the creation and first application of an approach for facilitating intercultural, interdisciplinary meetings. 'The JOIN Principle', or JOIN, for short is mainly based on the Theme-Centred Interaction (TCI) and Reteaming methodology. Highlights of this work are the extensive, integrated literature element on culture, communication, and organisational dynamics, as well as one of the few analyses of current literature on TCI in the English language. Additionally, the TCI group phase model by Angelika and Eike Rubner, including associated fears and wishes in each phase of the group development, are first published here in the English language. The description of JOIN is enriched with examples and guidelines on how to use this thesis as a handbook for the application of the principle. Finally, five intercultural, interdisciplinary workshops were conducted with JOIN and the data collected is analysed and documented in the work at hand. The conclusion and outlook chapter summarises the results, including personal quotations from the hiring executives of the workshops, and provides suggestions for future research.

Coherent Optics presents, in a concise and lively overview, easy access to the fundamentals and modern aspects of this field. From text based on coherence and its measurement the reader gains access to the fields of interferometry, holography and Fourier optics while becoming acquainted with methods of coherent optical techniques of measurement. From the multitude of nonlinear optical phenomena the following topics are particularly discussed: the laser with its nonlinear dynamics, tree-wave interference, the optical parametric amplifier, and nonlinear fibre optics including solitons for signal transmission. Many examples and exercises with complete solutions make this book a valuable study text.
