När Thordis Elva i mars 2013 sa hejdå till sin treårige son och sin partner var det med många motstridiga känslor inombords. Hon skulle flyga från Reykjavik till andra sidan jorden för att möta den man som våldtog henne när hon var sexton år.Samtidigt gav sig Tom Stranger av från Sydney. Innerst inne undrade han om han verkligen förtjänade chansen att få träffa Thordis. Är det möjligt att läka om man inte ens kan förlåta sig själv?Resan var resultatet av en åtta år lång mejlväxling.
