Gwen Frost is a Japanese-American kitsune, fox spirit, trying to escape the bonds of traditional kitsune life in Japan and fit into normal life as an American teenager with her foster family. On her way to the bus stop, the first day at her new school in Edenton, North Carolina, she feels an ominous presence but dismisses it. When she arrives at school, she finds herself drawn to another student, a boy named Alex, who surprisingly can see through her fox spirit disguise.

When a mysterious shadow creature attacks Alex after school one day, Gwen reaches him just in time to save his life. Gwen and Alex team up to find the shadow creature's master and stop its attacks before the beast hurts them or anyone else.

They quickly learn, however, that the town has an unusual number of supernatural residents...so it could be anyone. It could be the vampire with a curious secret and an equally curious way of life. Nicole Clark caught the eyes and heart of the Olympian God Zeus, reincarnated into the body of an African American man, going by the name of Five. This machination was thankfully brought low by Five, his brothers, Ezra and Andre, and his sister, Pearl as well as the other reincarnated Olympians after they defeated Perses, Epimetheus, Styx, and the redemptive Prometheus. The portal closed and the people of Bevelle safe, Nicole went to work crafting a brilliant cover story for why everyone in town fell asleep at the same time. 

Since then, Five, Nicole, and the rest of the residents of Mt. Olympus have enjoyed a brief respite of peace... until Perses returns...and new threats emerge from the ranks of the Titans. Will Five and Nicole be able to rise to these new challenges from without as they''re also encountering strife within?

The pair discovered that a clandestine organization bent on world-domination, En Quosque, was responsible for it all after Angela was forced into a ritual that allowed her to become a daywalker.

Now, reunited...due in no small part to Angela''s efforts...Nathan and Alana have decided to give it another try, moving forward with their engagement and marriage. As Alana and Nathan make preparations for their pending nuptials, Angela settles into her new roles as the Chief Magistrate''s assistant, as well as being her newest sire-daughter. Everything seems to be going well, despite Angela''s growing feelings toward her best friend, Nathan.

The Olympians believe one of these threats is Hecate, Goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy...since magic is the means and reason for most of these threats returns. Hecate, now reincarnated as Faith Howard, appeared in Nicole''s apartment just after Five was kidnapped by unknown forces, hoping to explain herself and possibly offer assistance.

Hecate...Faith''s appearance comes on the heels of an earth-shattering that ties Nicole and Brandy together for the rest of their lives. They find that they have the same mother and that their mother along with one of their siblings has shaped their lives in ways they wouldn''t have believed possible. Armed with this news, Nicole committed herself to helping the other Olympians retrieve Five from his would-be captors, even if it means going into the bowels of Tartarus, Greek God Hell, to get him. Will they be able to find a way to enter Tartarus? Will they find Five before he meets his end? And what role will the Goddess Nyx, a frequent intruder in Nicole''s life of late, and her children play in the coming conflict?
