The book identifies the impact of misinformation in the context of referenda. While the notion of misinformation is at the centre of current events and is the subject of several studies, it has rarely been addressed in the context of referenda or from a multidisciplinary and comparative perspective. This book fills this gap. Different legal orders have been chosen because of their extensive referendum practices (California and Switzerland); a recent legislative process on the issue of misinformation (Germany, France, and Canada); or recent experience with a vote during which it was considered that false information had been disseminated (Brexit, Catalan independence, and Italian constitutional referendum of 2016). By bringing together authors from the political and legal sciences, the book focuses on combining the expertise of researchers from different backgrounds and origins in order to propose innovative solutions. In this regard, the book is characterized by the fact that it does not aim to combat misinformation per se, but develops suggestions meant to guarantee the conditions of formation of the political will during referenda.The book will be an invaluable resource for legal scholars, political scientists, and specialists of political communication. Outside the world of academia, the book may draw the attention of policy-makers, practitioners, and journalists confronted with the challenges of misinformation or disinformation.

Based on a series of themes and case studies, this book aims to illustrate the impact of sports policies and practices on individuals and their identities, and to analyze the potential solutions offered by International human rights law (IHRL) for these infringements. It bridges the gap between IHRL and sports studies, and will be useful to scholars in both fields, especially those unfamiliar with each other’s work. Furthermore, by investigating the context of sport and its governance, this collection offers a series of valuable insights, enabling the development of an interpretation of ‘law in context’ for legal scholars in the field of human rights. As the governance and regulation of sport are seen as illustrations of other forms of normativity, this book also contributes to the conversation about the transnational dimension of law and legal orders. In this respect, it illustrates that normative autonomy in the field of sport, associated with the idea of lex sportiva, tends to be relative regarding IHRL. The sporting environment is not disconnected from major contemporary social issues: it constitutes a public space in which injustices can be denounced, but also the theater in which prejudices are perpetuated against various parties, such as athletes or workers. IHRL commonly addresses attacks on individual dignity and social justice issues by guaranteeing rights to individuals and offering them protection mechanisms. In this context, can IHRL solve the problems encountered in the sporting environment? This is the question that animates this volume. This is an open access book.

La dépendance liée au grand âge génère d''importants besoins - en termes de soins, de soutien personnel et de surveillance dans certains cas. Les assurances sociales existantes ne les couvrent qu''en partie, par un agglomérat de protections laissant une bonne part de la charge financière aux familles et aux cantons. Aussi convient-il d''explorer les pistes pour l''adoption d''une nouvelle assurance sociale destinée à remplir ces lacunes. Le projet fictif de loi cantonale vaudoise élaboré dans le présent livre pare au plus flagrant, en proposant une rétribution pour le travail des proches aidants, la prise en charge du séjour en EMS ainsi que d''autres prestations spécifiques non encore connues du droit suisse.

47 auteurs se sont réunis pour rendre hommage à la Professeure Anne-Christine Favre, une référence incontournable du droit de l'environnement, autrice de nombreuses publications, longtemps membre et présidente de la Commission fédérale en matière de bruit et correspondante en Suisse pour le Centre international de droit comparé de l'environnement (CIDCE). Les auteurs de ces contributions ont eu à cœur de refléter, à travers les pages de ces Mélanges, les nombreux centres d'intérêt qui passionnent Anne-Christine Favre, tels que le droit administratif général et spécial, la protection de l'environnement et de la nature, la procédure administrative.
