This research paper shall analyse this claim with respect to Chile's energy sector. Moreover, this paper investigates into the World Bank's privatisation strategies during times of the Washington and Post-Washington Consensus, whereby criticism is expressed. Aspects of competition and regulation theory as well as risk are examined. The paper concludes that the Washington Consensus is merely reached by individual institutions and therefore, not representative for judging privatisation issues in general.

This research paper is an economic approach to analyse the relationship between principals and agents, whereby the focus lies on executive remuneration incentives. The paper uses the example of Enron's corporate failure to build a case for the principal-agent framework and analyses executive payment schemes. Aspects on the origins and possible solutions for the principal-agent relationship are looked into. The paper concludes that Enron's compensation scheme has led to its failure.

This paper looks into the development of the Golden Age period, explains booms and dooms as well as the creation of the Eurocurrency market. Using the concept of the 'Impossible Trinity' the paper concludes that the internationalisation and liberalisation of the capital market undermined the Golden Age.

One of them are Global Institutions which have been criticised for either not being effective, too bureaucratic or only representing Northern policies. This paper looks into the development of Global Institutions over the last century and examines the World Bank's responsiveness to environmental concerns. The paper concludes that reaching institutional consensus is difficult besides the rising number of environmental accords.

One of these actors are global institutions such as UNEP and the GEF which have been criticised for either not being effective, too bureaucratic or only representing Northern policies. Main focus of this research paper lies on biodiversity and its related treaties such as the Convention on Biodiversity and the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. Further, this paper looks into the development of Global Institutions over the last century. The paper concludes that global institutions are crucial and important for global politics despite some unresolved challenges, such as on benefit sharing from genetic resources.
