Freuds Auseinandersetzung mit dem Phänomen des Fetischismus nimmt sowohl eine Sonderstellung innerhalb seines Werkes als auch bezüglich der theoretischen Genese seines Denkens ein. Die vorliegende Edition rekonstruiert Freuds Beschäftigung mit dem Fetischismus, die als ein Schlüssel gelesen werden kann, um zentrale psychische Mechanismen und Verschiebungen innerhalb seines Denkens zu erhellen. Zunächst wird der diskursive Boden skizziert, auf dessen Basis eine Erotisierung des Fetischismus erfolgen konnte. Darauf aufbauend werden Freuds Schriften zum Fetischismus rekonstruiert und werkimmanent kommentiert. Anschließend werden einige zentrale Positionen der psychoanalytischen Rezeption nach Freud sowie produktive Weiterentwicklungen der Fetischismus-Figur in der Kulturtheorie vorgestellt.Freud''s preoccupation with the phenomenon of fetishism occupies a special position both within his work and with regard to the theoretical genesis of his thought. First, the discursive ground is outlined on the basis of which an eroticisation of fetishism could take place. Building on this, Freud''s writings on fetishism are reconstructed and commented on in relation to his work. Subsequently, some central positions of psychoanalytic reception after Freud as well as productive further developments of the figure of fetishism in cultural theory are presented.
