This volume contains the papers presented at the International Workshop "Autonomous Intelligent Systems: Agents and Data Mining" (AIS-ADM 2005) held in St. Petersburg, Russia, during June 6-8, 2005. The workshop was - ganized by the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPIIRAS) in cooperation with Binghamton U- versity (SUNY, USA) and the Web Intelligence Consortium. Autonomous Intelligent Systems (AIS) constitute an emerging class of int- ligent information systems integrating recent advances in various technologies of Arti?cial Intelligence. Modern AIS incorporate multi-agent and data mining systemsprovidinganewdimensionforfurtherprogressinintelligentinformation technology. AIS-ADM 2005 provided an international forum to multi-agent and data mining researchers. A total of 29 papers from 15 countries relating to various aspects of both theory and applications of multi-agent systems, data mining and their joint area were submitted to AIS-ADM 2005. Out of them 17 were selected as regular presentations.Three technical sessions were organized, namely: In- gration of Multi-agent and Data Mining Techniques; Ontology Issues and Web Mining; and Applications and Case Studies of the Integrated Technology. The panel discussion was devoted to the mutual enrichment and challenging pr- lems emerging in the joint area of research. The AIS-ADM 2005 program was enriched by six distinguished invited speakers: Nick Jennings, Chengqi Zhang, Mircea Negoita, Pericles Mitkas, Hai Zhuge and Leonid Perlovsky.

This volume contains papers presented at the 3rd International Workshop on Mathematical Methods, Models and Architectures for Computer Network - curity (MMM-ACNS 2005) held in St. Petersburg, Russia, during September 25–27, 2005. The workshop was organized by the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPIIRAS) in cooperation with Binghamton University (SUNY, USA). The 1st and the 2nd International Workshops on Mathematical Methods, Models and Architectures for Computer Network Security (MMM-ACNS 2001 and MMM-ACNS 2003), hosted by the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation, demonstrated the keen interest of the international research community in the subject area. It was recognized that conducting a biannual series of such workshops in St. Petersburg stimulates fruitful exchanges between the di?erent schools of thought, facilitates the dissemination of new ideas and promotesthespiritofcooperationbetweenresearchersontheinternationalscale. MMM-ACNS 2005 provided an international forum for sharing original - search results and application experiences among specialists in fundamental and applied problems of computer network security. An important distinction of the workshop was its focus on mathematical aspects of information and computer network security addressing the ever-increasing demands for secure computing and highly dependable computer networks.

Since early 1990, multi-agent systems (MAS), data mining, and knowledge d- covery (KDD) have remained areas of high interest in the research and - velopment of intelligent information technologies. Indeed, MAS o?ers powerful metaphors for information system conceptualization, a range of new techniques, and technologies speci?cally focused on the design and implementation of lar- scale open distributed intelligent systems. KDD also provides intelligent inf- mation technology with powerful ideas, algorithms, and software means to help cope with the main problem of arti?cial intelligence, formulated in the we- known question “Where does the knowledge come from?”, thus actually making modern applications intelligent and adaptive. The evident recent trend in both science and industry is to integrate and take advantage of both technologies. The existing experience with combined application of multi-agent technology to design architectures of distributed (- erarchical and peer-to-peer) data mining and KDD systems, as well as the u- lization of data mining and KDD achievements to provide enhanced intelligence of MAS, con?rms the fact that both technologies are capable of mutual enri- ment and their integrateduse may result in intelligent information systems with new emergent properties. The 1st International Workshop “Autonomous Int- ligent Systems: Agents and Data Mining” (AIS-ADM 2005, June 6–8, 2005, St. Petersburg, Russia) was a response to the aforementioned trend. It con?rmed the interest of academic and industry communities in advancing the e?orts to integrate achievements in MAS and KDD, thus resulting in a new dimension and further progress in intelligent information technology.

This volume contains papers presented at the Fourth International Workshop on Mathematical Methods, Models and Architectures for Computer Network Security (MMM-ACNS 2007) held in St. Petersburg, Russia, during September 13–15, 2007. The workshop was organized by the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPIIRAS) in cooperation with Binghamton University (SUNY, USA). The organizers are proud that the MMM-ACNS workshops hosted by the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation in 2001, 2003 and 2005 evolved into a bi-annual series recognized in the professional community. These events not only demonstrated the keen interest of the participating researchers in the subject matter and the opportunity to present and disseminate individual achievements, but also promoted the spirit of cooperation, camaraderie, free exchange of ideas, and intellectually stimulating interaction between colleagues. Again, MMM-ACNS 2007 provided an international forum for sharing or- inal research results among specialists in fundamental and applied problems of computer network security. An important distinction of the conference was its focus on mathematical aspects of information and computer network security addressing the ever-increasing demands for secure computing and highly - pendable computer networks. A total of 56 papers from 18 countries related to signi?cant aspects of both theory and applications ofcomputer networkand informationsecurity weres- mitted to MMM-ACNS 2007. In total, 18 papers were selected for regular p- sentationsand 12 for short presentations(32 % of acceptance for full papers and 53 % for all papers).

Currently a plethora of heterogeneous, standalone or web-enabled applications exist providing various functionalities that could be exploited in innumerable contexts for the developmentof personalized agent-basedsolutions for the end user. The integration of these applications in a standard and seamless way to enable content-rich services for the end-user is not generally feasible. The main reason for this is that these app- cations are by nature heterogeneous, developed for different development plat-forms, using different software developmenttechnologies. In this paper we present a reference architecture and support tools designed to address the problem of seamless integration ofheterogeneoussoftwareapplicationsthroughdata mining(DM) onweb service(WS) data ("web service mining") in order to enhance personalization, pervasiveness and - ?ciency on behalf of agent-based end-user applications.1 Work presented in this paper is part of a European funded project called OASIS , whose main objective is the implementation of an ontology-driven, open reference - chitecture, which will enable and facilitate interoperability, seamless connectivity and sharing of content between different services and ontologiesin application domains for the elderly and beyond. OASIS promotes new ways to integrate all supported appli- tions into a common environment that enables access to information and content from the existing applications through WS-based software interfaces and content delivery to end-user in a pervasive manner through multi-agent applications. The achievement of this objectiveforms the main motivationof our work that results in a WS mining fra- work for the delivery of personalizedservices to the elderly users througha multi-agent system (MAS).
