In jedem Kapitel werden verschiedene Ursachen von Läsionsmöglichkeiten erörtert und mit eigenen Erfahrungen, die an etwa 1000 neuroonkologischen Patienten gewonnen wurden, verglichen. Darstellung und Gliederung sind für das periphere Nervensystem neu. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird der Ursache, Klinik und klinischen Bedeutung von "paraneoplastischen" Syndromen gewidmet.
