Multiscale Finite Element Simulation of Reinforced Concrete: The Impact of Extreme Loading Conditions on Structures and Materials provides readers with a fully-fledged theoretical framework of multiscale finite element analysis for the performance of reinforced concrete structures under extreme loads. The book updates readers by demonstrating novel methods and the latest developments that have recently been introduced into the field. It includes detailed explanations of advanced modeling techniques, insights into computational methods, clear guidance on their software implementation, theory, practice, and real world case studies and numerical simulations, thus enabling readers to apply advanced finite element analysis techniques to evaluate real-world engineering problems. In addition, the book discusses engineering challenges, including design optimization, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness. - Presents a comprehensive, theoretical framework of multiscale finite element analysis as applied to the performance of reinforced concrete structures under extreme loads- Guides readers from an introduction to multiscale analysis, through theoretical constructs, practical applications, and cutting-edge topics within research and current engineering practices- Provides a detailed focus on current issues, including mesoscale modeling of bond-slip behavior of steel reinforcements with concrete and progressive structural collapse
