Violence and Postcolonial Marginalities in South Asian Literature explores the multifaceted dimensions of violence represented in the literature of South Asia.The book sheds light on the relationships between colonial legacies, social structures, and violence in the South Asian region. In the context of South Asia, a region marked by rich cultural diversity and historical complexities, the intersections of postcolonialism, violence, and literature become particularly salient. Through critical engagements with Dalit, feminist, and environmental literatures, this collection illuminates how corporeal, psychic, and spatial violence are normalized by hegemonic narratives and inscribed onto subaltern bodies and landscapes.

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2024 in the subject Engineering - Chemical Engineering, grade: A, , course: Chemical Technology, language: English, abstract: Water pollution is an environmental crisis that requires sustainable, cost-effective remediation. Mango peels and kernels are used to make activated carbon for water filtration in this study. Phosphoric acid activation, drying, and sieving produced activated carbon. To assess AC adsorption effectiveness, ash, moisture, pH, and iodine number were measured. UV spectrophotometry was used to test mango peel and mango kernel AC adsorption of Methylene blue dye. Over time, mango peel AC showed great dye adsorption efficiency, demonstrating its microporous nature and attraction to organic contaminants. The complete hardness reduction trials showed mango peel AC could remove hardness-inducing ions from water. Functional groups responsible for adsorption efficiency were confirmed using infrared spectroscopy. The findings suggest mango peel-derived activated carbon is an eco-friendly and cost-effective water treatment material. Future wastewater treatment research should optimize activation factors and assess large-scale applications.

The principle operations involved in the size reduction are compression, impact, attrition, grinding and cutting etc. The degree of separation of the valuable mineral from its ore which is indicated by the degree of fineness of the material obtained from the grinding process is related to the cost involved in the process. In mineral beneficiation plants, grinding process is used using different grinding media for separating the valuable mineral from its ore, which should be economically feasible with minimum operational cost. The major of the operational cost is involved the energy consumption during the grinding process to get the desired degree of fineness to separate the valuable minerals from its ore to the maximum possible extent. Studies on the grinding kinetics of Limestone ore using talcum powder as an additive were under taken in the present work. Effect of various parameters on the performance of a ball mill during the grinding was studied. The parameters studied in the present work are time of grinding, quantity of feed, mill speed, grinding media, quantity of additive and feed size. The present study was mainly emphasized on specific surface area, energy consumption and breakage rate constant. Energy consumption (E) was calculated by varying time of grinding (t, min), quantity of feed (Q, g), mill speed (N, rpm), grinding media (Bs, cm), quantity of additive (QA , g) and feed size (Fs, g). Specific surface area (S) and Breakage rate constant (K) were also calculated for the same parameters.
