A collection of dramatic texts is always an occasion for summing up the intermediate results of an author''s creative path. These days there are more such occasions, and not all of them are joyful. By the time this collection comes out, playwright Svetlana Petriychuk is under investigation for one of the most absurd processes of our time - the so-called "new theatrical case. Svetlana and the director Zhenya Berkovich are accused of justifying terrorism for staging the play "Finist the Clear Falcon. The play "Tuaregs," which gave its name to the collection, is a program work by Svitlana Petriichuk. The play uses the method of combining the incompatible. The life of women who rebelled against the male state in the village of Otrub is intertwined with the legends and tales of the Tuareg tribe, who came to the idea of matriarchy in times immemorial.

In today''s Russia, the only place where free speech can still be heard is in the cage of the courtroom. From here, the defendants make their last word, using this one opportunity to make their most important statements. To denounce war, to defy fear, to confront lies and violence, to support others. Last words are more than a political declaration, more than a testimony of personal courage. It is they that create the most poignant portrait of the era. Our collection, Unfollowed Words, is the voice of free people in an unfree country. "My inner freedom cannot be taken away by anyone. It lives in the word, it will live thanks to glasnost, when it will be read and heard by thousands of people. This freedom is already going on with every caring person who hears us in this country," Maria Alyokhina said at the Pussy Riot trial in 2012. - I believe that honesty and transparency and the thirst for the truth will make all of us a little bit freer. We will see that." And the more the space of freedom shrinks, the more precious and weighty every last word that breaks through the wall of silence. They are our medicine against fear, offering hope for healing.

The 1979 Iranian Revolution brought Islamists to power, dashed generations of hope for democracy, and forever changed the course of history throughout the region. At a crucial moment, Iran''s leftist revolutionary forces, secretly led by the Kremlin, proved too far from claiming power. The book by Mikhail Krutikhin, a journalist and analyst who worked in Iran for many years and is now recognized in Russia as a "foreign agent," is not only a historical study, but also a lesson in how ideology can manipulate people and events. Based on personal experience and rich historical material, the author tells how communist ideology served for years only as a cover for power and influence games.

Among the twenty-six authors of this poetry collection are both well-known and widely published poets, as well as those working mainly in prose and translations. Whether they live in Russia or abroad, they are united in their native language, commitment to shared humanistic values, understanding of responsibility, and the current need for every author, the same as every human being, to overcome muteness and openly speak on the today-happening horror. The extremely compressed time of catastrophe requires condensed, that is, poetic, texts. Since no one can comprehend these occurrences alone, here is a collective effort under this cover, these are the voices calling for each other in an attempt to find answers to the most tormenting questions of the present time. Thanks to eighteen translators, these voices can be heard around the world.Authors: Anatoly Berger, Tatiana Bonch-Osmolovskaya, Marina Boroditskaya, Alla Bossart, Tamara Bukovskaya, Dmitry Vedenyapin, Alina Vitukhnovskaya, Tatiana Voltskaya, Liliya Gazizova, Sergey Gandlevsky, Dmitry Grigoriev, Yuly Gugolev, Veronica Dolina, Victor Esipov, Vadim Zhuk, Igor Irtenyev, Natalia Klyuchareva, Larissa Miller, Lev Oborin, Boris Roginsky, Natalia Sivokhina, Alexander Skidan, Lyubov Summ, Alexander Frolov, Valery Shubinsky, Tatiana Shcherbina.Translators: Maria Bloshteyn, Tatiana Bonch-Osmolovskaya, Andrei Burago, Sasha Dugdale, Maria Gusev, Venya Gushchin, Anna Halberstadt, Anna Krushelnitskaya, Dmitri Manin, James McGavran, Max Nemtsov, Philip Nikolayev, Marina Peunova, Emma Popek, Polina Sparks, Olga Varshaver, Rowan Williams, Mark Wingrave.

"Springfield" can under no circumstances be published in modern Russia, and not only because of the "wrong" orientation of the main character.I found this novel through a link from Facebook. With the words "it''s stronger than Edichka" I sent it to my friends. Writers are offended by comparisons to others, so I will say this: this is a generational novel. The generation of thirty-somethings, crushed by Russian reality, destroying everything alive and unlike the mainstream. It is a must-read.I spent the entire first war year thinking about setting up a free publishing house. After reading Springfield, I realized that such novels and such authors needed this publishing house. If not Freedom Letters, then who? Contract number one was signed with Sergei. It is with this book that we begin.- Publisher George Urushadze

The fast-paced, precise and sweeping novel "The Big Ration" served as the basis for the movie drama "Oligarkh" and reflected an entire era through the history of business, politics and the life of the hero, the prototype of which was Boris Berezovsky. "The Big Ration" was published in 1999, a watershed year for Russia. The time has come to read it again. In the full author''s version the book is published for the first time, opening a series of Freedom Letters "How we got to this life.

Alina Vitukhnovskaya''s new book sounds like a young Marilyn Manson placed in the current Russian reality, but stating the same thing: "Rock is deader than dead, shock is all in your head". This compilation is an omen of the funeral of some centuries-old phenomenon.Perhaps, in order that on the ruins of the old, aggressive one a new and, what is also important to note, peace-loving, humane one will emerge. And this is really believable, since it is in these years that something monumental is created. Liberal Rebel Poetry.

Instead of the titles of the poems in this collection, there are numbers. Each digit is an ordinal number of the day of Russia''s full-scale war against Ukraine. Ali Khaitlina has a gift for finding the most precise words. Words of pain and hope. Words that bring even grown men to tears, but also help them to live.

My otkryvaem seriyu «Uchebniki rasseyannyh». Rasseyannyh prezhde vsego po miru, a potom uzhe absent-minded. Eti uchebniki pomogut osvoit'' novye professii ili nakonec osushchestvit'' mechtu. This gripping book by the prominent Russian journalist and analyst Sergey Shelin aims to explain why most Russians suddenly "understood" the need to attack Ukraine and Europe and are confident that their country is on the right path.Shelin, who was declared a "foreign agent" by the Putin regime and forced to leave Russia, argues that while most Russians now want a break from war, they are not going to apologize for the aggression and do not believe it stems from Vladimir Putin''s actions. They have come to see Donald Trump as the only Western leader who understands and respects Russia and have embraced a kind of alternative West led by Trump and the European far right.

Stoilo uekhat'' polveka nazad iz SSSR v Ameriku, chtoby napisat'' etu chudesnuyu knizhku. VZ Dmitriya Bykova — ne biografiya Vladimira Zelenskogo. I eto dazhe ne kniga o voyne.VZ — osobenno yeyo tretya chast, «Misteriya» — o, vozmozhno, finalnoy bitve arhaiki i progressa. Eta kniga zadumyvalas'' avtorom kak uchebnik, a prevratilas'' po mere raboty nad ney v ispoved'' cheloveka, vlozhivshego zhizn'' v pogibshee, no ot etogo ne menee interesnoe delo — issledovanie rossiyskoy kul''tury. Olga Romanova, a well-known human rights activist and journalist, has suddenly written a dashing neo-noir. A political thriller with choppy elements, a coming-of-age drama with slash fanfic. It would have been typical yaoi (boys'' love) if she had limited herself to men, but no.The characters are easily recognizable, every day you see their prototypes on your smartphone or computer screens, even if you don''t want to see them at all. The action begins in 1974 in the suburbs of Leningrad, moves to Moscow, Kabul, Berlin, Dresden, St. Petersburg and ends in the very near future. All of this could have been. Or maybe it really was.A cheerful young native of a Ukrainian village at the very beginning of the era of stagnation comes to conquer the Northern Capital. She tries to help people, she is smart, she has grip, she makes a dizzying career, crossing paths with the main Soviet female cosmonaut, with an aspiring KGB officer sent to Dresden, with gangsters, with members of the CPSU Central Committee, ministers, spies and assassins. Without feuding with anyone, without breaking the rules, by the end of her life she turns into a monster who has declared war on her homeland.

The book by the well-known journalist and political analyst Sergei Shelin (and also, according to the Kremlin, a "foreign agent") is quite unlike either scientific or journalistic works devoted to the fate of Russia and Russians. It is an extremely subjective and polemical, but filled with many facts, story about the unique route and numerous adventures of the Russian power. The author describes the astounding internal mechanisms that time after time return this power to the path it has been following for all 570 years of its existence - from the time of Vasily the Dark, whom the author considers the founder of Russia, to Vladimir Putin.Together with the author, the reader takes a breathtaking journey through Russian modernity and the Russian past. The book is structured as answers to the many questions that arise along the way.In conclusion, Sergei Shelin talks about possible options for the country''s future and what factors must come together for Russia to get off the "special path" for the first time in history.
