In particular, Frank ponders the inequalities he witnessed and the impact these might have on the future of globalization. There are some powerful messages here about stereotyping, migrants, religion, multiculturalism and human relationships. This book demonstrates that no matter how many places you experience, you never stop wondering and learning. On a bright, busy morning in Cairo, a roaring sound fills the city square as the big mosque and the main cathedral are engulfed in dust and smoke, throwing the population into panic. When the air and the debris are cleared, an odd realization emerges: only the ornamentation on the houses of worship has been destroyed. Although members of each religion are quick to believe that the other was responsible for the violent destruction, in fact neither group is to blame. Determined to find out who is behind the incident, a colonel from the National Security Department begins an investigation that leads him to unexpected places, not only within Egyptian culture but within himself. In this richly layered novel, rifts between Islam and Christianity, and between Anglican and Coptic Christianity, divide young couples in love, families, and communities. Parents struggle to explain differences to their children, priests to parishioners, and lovers to each other in heartfelt conversations. Meanwhile, symbols and messages further deepen the intrigue behind the violence, and accounts of a large online community and its leader start to surface. Is it possibleor even desirablefor people to get along peacefully with each other, despite differences in how we approach God? As clashes between cultures and religions threaten to destroy us, the colonels quest to solve the crime becomes not only about the debris in the heart of Cairo, but one of the central questions of our time.

In a world that seems to be turning away from God, author John Onu Odihi writes from his heart about the Christian life and its challenges in the modern era. Even while our culture emphasizes independence and moral relativism, Odihi is unafraid to remind us that our victory can come only through loving and trusting God, and living in obedience to him. Building a Relationship with God and with Others helps us do just that, with essays on such topics as gratitude, patience, and the mystery of Gods love. But the essays go beyond the theoretical to the real dynamics in our relationship not only with God, but also with each other. Reflections on how to live out our Christian faith address forgiveness, encouragement, the value of confession, and ways to cope with fear. Youll even find an essay on the difficult challenge of how to lovingly confront someone who is in the wrong. Each section is followed by suggested biblical passages that you can return to again and again for support and reference.Throughout this book is an emphasis on the joy and fulfilment that is ours when we learn to truly love not only our neighbours but our enemiesJesus ultimate message as we work to bring his kingdom to this earth. Whether youre a new Christian or have been one for many years, youll welcome this chance to learn more and to deepen your understanding of what it means to walk with God.

Every child has a dream. When I was a kid, I did not have an extraordinary dream to be somebody, as I had been through the dream itself. Seems like everytime I opened my eyes from nightime sleep, I was in different places: being a citizen in some part of the world, a dream every child ever had.I was awake when I was in my homeland without knowing what I want to be in the future. I was in search for being myself and by going through 12 years working at my present job then I know what I want. I want to be what I wish for when I was a teenager: a writer. It was really my dream that I could find a book with my name written on it in every shelf of book stores. It was just amazing to think that people would read my writings and influenced other people by what I wrote. I just thought that I am not too late to reach that goal as I also found that it was not only people like myself who in search for an identity. I have been hand in hand with my office as well as the whole nation to reach what we dream for. I was born as a dreamer and Im part of a community dream. I am a dreamer..so what!

This series explains the many important aspects of the colonial Economy of N.S.W. between 1788 and 1835. Guiding the colonial economy was the strong hand of a dedicated public servant - the first senior appointment by a Colonial Governor - that appointee was William Lithgow -the first Deputy Assistant Commissary-General, then the first Auditor-General of the Colony. In conjunction with the work of Lithgow, the development of the public service accounting and finance areas is developed. The dual volumes of Guiding the economy and Financing the Colony provides the foundation story of the Treasury operations in Colonial N.S.W.

This series explains the many important aspects of the colonial Economy of N.S.W. between 1788 and 1835. The traditional thinking is that the pastoral economy led the growth of the colony into the second half of the 19th century, however the first half of the 1800s has been re-examined and it is the case that a secondary industry built around manufacturing led the growth, particularly in the last years of the Macquarie Administration. This development of a secondary industry followed the rise and strength of the numerous government business enterprises. In the need to cut back on convicts in government service, many small cottage ventures were cut off from the main Lumber Yard operations to be privatized and form the first of the manufacturing industries that would support the colonial economy well into the future.

This series explains the many important aspects of the colonial Economy of N.S.W. between 1788 and 1835. This present volume sets down over 14 essays on aspects of the colonial economy, ranging from a short review of the Van Diemen''s Land Company - the second land grant coy in Australia - the AAC being the first, to a study of the writings of Professor Noel Butlin and the factors of economic growth in those important first 30 years of the colony and settlement in NSW. Some notable essays include an understanding of the Macquarie years that set a standard for economic development that became hard to follow. The many statutes enacted by Westminster Parliament in establishing the colony are examined as is the rise of the pastoralist and squatter in the colony. These entire special features of the economy helped set up the economic drivers that created such a successful economy.

This series explains the many important aspects of the colonial economy of N.S.W. between 1788 and 1835. In conjunction with the volume, guiding the economy, this study of financing the economy, provides a full and valuable insight into the formation of the NSW Treasury and its economic policies. The arrival of the Legislative Council changed the role and duties of the Governor in a major way. Instead of the autocratic governance previously experienced, there was now the need for compromise and the acceptance of guidance from an Appointed Council. The financial statements of the colony between 1802 and 1850 have been subjected to scrutiny for the first time and most interesting conclusions have been drawn concerning the performance of the colonial economy.

Nine-year-olds Youssef, Zayyed, and Omar have never travelled outside their little community of Al-Haidar, so when Youssef suggests that they do some exploring, the friends eagerly set off, each intending to visit a nearby village and report back to the others. What the boys discover is that although all the villages are within walking distance, they are distinctly different from one another and from their own Al-Haidar.Zayyed is puzzled to see that everyone in the village he visits seems angry and gruff, occupied with making weapons. In the crowded marketplace of the second village, Omar cant help but notice that some people are very prosperous, whereas the others are miserable. Meanwhile, in the third village, Youssef is struck by the sight of a big school where children are happily learning and playing, as well as the first hospital he has ever seen.In this charming tale, childrens natural curiosity leads them to learn about justice, kindness, and fairness. Al-Haidars resident old wise man helps them not only to understand the circumstances of each village, but also to see that the lessons each one embodies about values and leadership are universal, no matter what the context. Set in the desert sands of Arabia, this is the first in a series of adventure stories in which cultural awareness, surprising discoveries, and learning about ethical behaviour go hand in hand.

The eBOOK will be short and concise but analytically precise. This book should be promoted to academics in universities and research centres. Number theory is the simplest branch of mathematics. Even pre unversity students would be able to understand the presentation.

Any economic history written in the 21st century of colonial Australia, will highlight the economic gains made by Governor Macquarie, especially in the broad planning approach to efficiently and effectively use convict labour for economic improvement in the colony. Whilst Macquarie tried to make the colony safe and attractive to investors and entrepreneurs, he used the various Government business enterprises, such as the Lumber and Timber Yards, the Stone Quarry and the naval yard, to supplement the gains already accomplished by the Government Farms and the Government Store (the Commissariat) to underpin outstanding economic growth and impressive GDP in the colonial economy. The various aspects of the colonial economy make interesting reading not to mention the comparison of the Aboriginal economy of 1788 with the white economy. The study is a different approach to the colonial economy and is the first of an impressive series of studies of each of the aspects of the economy between 1788 and 1835.
